A space to accept and heal. The second zone, inspired by the 2nd and 8th Zodiac archetypes Taurus and Scorpio. The theme of acceptance became a space for contemplation and comforting treatments for mind and body. This spa and wellness retreat serves as a therapeutic and calming environment to slow down and embrace self-care and share this experience with others. Fit with 25m pool, that includes a flowing circular river and central jaccuzi. This dynamic circle is inspired by the cyclical nature of life and is well lit by the sun passing east to west, a gentle reminder of time changing. The SW view provides the most prime location for watching the sunset over the treetops and the river tay, and is symbolic of nature’s way of starting over. A series of treatment rooms, saunas, steam rooms, and hot and cold plunge pools immerse the senses and help cleanse deep emotions. This section has it’s own changing room and shower facilities. It is a private space to relax and heal from traumas or life’s problems, letting the user feel more at peace and accepting of how things often need to change in order to become better.

This polarity represents a relationship where Taurus the 2nd archetype represents form and Scorpio, the 8th, represents transform. While Taurus deals with matter, personal values, growth and senses, where Scorpio rules destruction of form, change, and transformation.
I decided on Acceptance as the tying word for this polarity, the acceptance that as things grow and thrive they will equally change and come to a natural end. It is the cyclical nature of life. It is the Spring budding in April/May, contrasted with the Fall and turn of winter in October/November. Change, and acceptance that things often have to change in order to get better can be a hard concept for people who enjoy life the way it is. Change in life path, or loss of loved ones can trigger uncomfortable mental states.
Letting go of this can be difficult, but letting yourself feel the emotions involved can help and allowing them to be. Therefore ‘Acceptance’ I turned into a Spa and treatment zone. The water sign Scorpio made me consider the therapeutic sensations of water, and with the earth sign Taurus making me want to keep this zone underground and safe close to the warm heart of the hill.
The support of treatment rooms, saunas and flowing pools will allow for a contemplative space to work through emotions held behind change.
