PECHA KUCHA HERO PRESENTATION

It keeps you warm, it keeps you dry.. what is it?

Pecha Kucha is a Japanese originated method of quickly presenting a talk. The format consisting of 20 image slides each lasting 20 seconds playing alongside your narrative, gives you the oppurtunity to provide a snappy and fun presentation without the need for text-heavy slideshows that drag on and bore the viewer.

In the beginning of Semester 2 we were asked to do a talk on our Design Hero or movement that inspired us, in the PK style.

I chose a topic not based on one designer, but several, as I wanted to push a provocative idea to the audience which would make them think. I challeneged the 'masculinity' of Architecture against the 'feminity' of Fashion and proved that they both provide the same answer to the same question so why are they gender dominated design disciplines?

Introduce no specific Pecha Kucha Hero, but aim to discuss many influences that have lead me to my chosen discipline and to provoke topical questions towards the audience

Ask question ‘it keeps you warm it keeps you dry what is it?’ engage with audience and get their help.

Not give away answers until next slide, say ‘good answer’ or ‘yes possibily’

Slide I have chosen is simple, text to be big and bold as a starting point to draw the viewers in and start their thoughts firing with a simple question/riddle like innitation

White on black I feel is a strong contrast which makes a difference to how bland the slide show starts as
